Sculpture - Old Lady of the Mountain - Earth People Collection #3
handmade in high-fired stoneware clay
includes Certificate of Authenticity.
A high-fired (quite durable) handmade sculpture. This is the 'Old Lady of the Mountain'. She was inspired to come to life after I made her counterpart the 'Old Man of the Mountain' - see image.
He longed for her, and in fact spent many hundreds of years looking for his lost love. She, the 'Old Lady of the Mountain' was busy tending to the gardens - focused on her own world and to all things that grow and flower.
She often dreamed about the 'Old Man' - however was preoccupied with her important job - that kept her busy. The 'Old Lady of the Mountain' knew that one day they would reunite - they had eternity to do that. There was no rush in her eyes - as one minute in our time, was about one year in hers.
Her favourite time of the year is spring - when the ground and seeds she's been tirelessly tending to start producing life again. When she can the 'Old Lady of the Mountain' enjoys taking long naps amoungst the flowers and herbs.
This lady inspires dedication and commitment to one's calling. She teaches how to savour moments and live in the present. She loves colour, sweet scents and being in the garden.
The 'Old Lady of the Mountain' is patient, understanding and withstands the test of time. She will likely inspire these types of qualities in her keeper.
