Arts & Craft Newsletter - Campbell Town Tasmania - August 2025

Edition 17 | August 2025

From the editor:

We enjoyed a record number of school holiday activities and our first Treasure Hunt across Campbell Town & Ross during July. We also closed our doors to take a week’s break. Our new little grandson, Parker was born on the 11th of July, and we got to spend a lot of time with him and our children during our hiatus.

Thank you to Richard Klekociuk for featuring his newest drawings in his LUSH pop-up exhibition during July – we still have these artworks on hand if you missed this showing.

We transition into a new month of exhibitions, starting with the Tasmanian Art Group (TAG) and then the Tasmanian Ceramics Association (TCA). That’s two openings and two exciting member’s exhibitions. We hope you can stop in and see what these group’s members have been busy creating, and it would be wonderful to share the opening events with you too – TAG Sun 3 Aug, 2.30pm start, and TCA Sun 31 Aug, 2.30pm start.

Our 4th Saturday in the month Art & Craft Group has been cancelled for the rest of the year due to event clashes. If there is interest, we will look at reviving it in 2026.

Speaking of 2026, after much deliberation and assessment of the numbers, Cory and I have decided that we will stay on for another couple of years. We are confident that with the potential we have seen, and the growing awareness of our gallery, that this will be the right choice.

Thank you so much for your support during our first eight months in operation,

Lee-Anne Peters

GUIDE TO THE BULLOCK FESTIVAL

At The Weaver’s Cottages Studio (Oatlands) Johnny Mackay will be in the front courtyard demonstrating the use of hand woodworking tools, making a stool, and there will be a display of his work in the Parlour alongside spinning, weaving and knitting demonstrators over the festival weekend.

Lee-Anne Peters will be in the Gay St Hall, Oatlands demonstrating pottery, selling some art supplies and ceramic items from Harmony on High Street, as well as welcoming you to the hugely popular ‘Clay Pile’. Pinch off some clay, pull up a chair and make anything you like. Then either; leave it behind, or for a small fee it can be taken and fired in Lee-Anne’s kiln. All ages are welcome.
