Flying Away....

Art Residency Diary

Lee-Anne Peters

Day 15 & 16 – 27 & 28 August 2022

The Residency has come to an end, my last hours in paradise.

The sun shines through the large windows out front, the room is warm, welcoming and enticing, as is the Black Swan.

 ...

...

It enticed me at the beginning, and it leaves me enticed here at the end.

This weekend Exhibition – to celebrate the end of this Residency - has been beyond my wildest dreams.

People visited from far and wide.

 ...

 ...

Some came to paint and draw, others to laugh, some for a cuppa, and others to browse.

It's been one of the best opportunities and experiences of my life as an artist. I have been moved to tears of emotion, laughter and gratitude. I feel extremely proud of myself, my perseverance and commitment to this project.

I came here needing revival and I received it and much much more.

My journey as an artist, although decades long has been enriched and in some ways feels like it is just beginning.

From here I depart, flying gracefully like a swan into the great unknown, with the world at my paint-covered fingertips...

 ...

 ...

Where will it take me? What will I do? Let's find out....

A massive thank you to Michelle, Alan and the Southern Midlands Council for offering this incredible artist initiative.
Thank you to those locals who inspired some of the artworks: Peter, Aaron, Geoff & Elizabeth, and the 'local complainer'.
A big Thank You to my husband, children and all of my family and friends who traveled here to see what I have been doing, and supported this endevour
Thank you to all who visited and purchased something I have made
... and to the Black Swans - I couldn't have done this without you. You've inspired me to keep pursuing, keep creating and to keep dreaming!
THANK YOU
Signing out from Airspace in Oatlands, Tasmania. May the incoming artist enjoy this as much as I have.
