Should you use an art diary?
I don't find it useful for my drawing and painting artworks, however it has been valuable in developing my ideas for ceramics and recording the process of things like: length of build, ideas for building method, colour / glaze ideas, any obstacles, any successful applications, and then end size (clay shrinks!) and end result observations.

I’m with you on that. I don’t use an art diary, but for my silversmithing and jewellery making I do keep notes on the technicalities and different practices which lead to varying results.
