What Inspires Artists?

Everyone notices different things in their day-to-day life. An artist looks very much at the shadows / highlights / siluoettes / character / shape / detail and so much more.

In this video I share some things which inspire me as an artist.

What inspires you?

  • Creative inspiration, I’m very much like you, looking out for inspiration in people’s faces (I love a lived in face) expressions, light, dark, contrast, shadow, colours and shapes. Nature also, trees, rocks, crystals, and symbols of all kinds. I dream extremely vivid colourful dreams which are very inspirational, sometimes prophetic too, and often symbolic. I like to meditate and see colours, patterns, shapes, animals and nature. I like the elements and things like the structure of an old brick, or tree bark, or patina on metals. I could go on and on really, I like so many things, juxtapositions between elements in a view, clouds etc. In jewellery I like natural movement, contrast and flowing lines and surface textures. I love the unpredictable.
