APPLICATIONS FOR EXHIBITION SPACE in 2027/2028

This is information for those who may be interested in having an exhibition in 2027/28 at our Gallery & Art Hub at Harmony on High Street, 116 High St, Campbell Town, Tasmania.

We welcome applications from; individuals, groups, organisations, Tasmanians, original artworks (no photography, prints, digital or AI), emerging and professional artists. We are especially interested in those artists with refreshing ideas who are seriously committed to the quality of their work and increasing their exposure and artist profile through an exhibition. All kinds of media will be considered.

We are less interested in: installation type work, an exhibition full of abstract works, uncompleted applications, and an unclear direction for the exhibition.

SOLO & VERY SMALL GROUPS: We are mainly interested in applications from people in this category who are willing to spend time creating good quality work and presenting it professionally, and we are looking for people who actively share their work on social media.

LARGER GROUPS & ORGANISATIONS: A broad and catchy theme is suggested. We like good quality work that is professionally presented.

DATES: We have exhibition dates available for the period between March 2027 and February 2028, and they run mostly in alignment with a calendar month – although some overlap.

EXHIBITION DURATION: 27 days

OPENING EVENT: ‘Meet the Artist’ talk, Q&A & video streamed live on the first Sunday afternoon of your exhibition at 2.30pm. This is a compulsory part of having an exhibition with us. This is an alcohol free and family friendly event.

All exhibitions open on a Friday and close on a Wednesday, with collection to follow two weeks after your exhibition concludes. We have a two-week cooling period where we will - store and possibly display in our main gallery - some of your exhibiting works for possible late sales.

Exhibiting dates are confirmed with successful applications. You are not required to gallery sit. We will print labels of your artwork. You must provide all that we need, including a full inventory including pricing, photos for marketing etc from approximately 6 weeks out (inventory can be 1 week out). All work must be for sale.

CURATION: All exhibitions are assembled, curated and disassembled by Lee-Anne Peters, artist and co-owner of Harmony on High Street.

QUALITY OF WORK: Cheap and low-quality frames (including very thin glass) and canvases like the brands: crafters choice, semco (from Spotlight) will not be accepted. Mont Marte is medium quality, and we will not accept lower quality canvas than that. Art glass is noticeably good as it is less reflective and we have a well-lit gallery. Please ensure all glass in framed works are clean of marks / fingerprints, and that no debris has fallen inside the glass when framing and on delivery.

COST & COMMISSION: There is a $200 fee to be paid within 14 days of application approval to cover promotion, posters, logistics, marketing, the opening event and use of the space. There is a 30% commission on sales based on the Margin method (retail price – (minus) 30% commission = (equals) artist price.)

MARKETING: If accepted, Lee-Anne will create all marketing material based on the information and images you have provided, and will send to you for approval before going public.

ACCEPTED APPLICATIONS: we receive many more applications than we have room and time for, so please ensure your application is as thought out, thorough and exciting as possible, and we reserve the right to accept the exhibitions that best fit the criteria and that we think will work for our location and customers.
