Coil Masterclass
This will be a a great workshop to practice and improve your coil rolling and application skills. This technique can be applied to many sorts of objects that you may like to make in the future.
Making coil pots, once the rhythm is established, can be extremely relaxing, satisfying and fast.
Browse some of the images to see the things I have made from coils (note: most of these things took many days to make, but it shows you what is possible).
Come with an idea, or you can see where the coiling takes you.
Make whatever you like (within reason) during the allocated time.
Suitable for beginners, intermediate, people u/12 are welcome if accompanied and may need to be assisted by an adult (if very young). As this is a fairly physical technique, it will be best for people who are able to stand and who don't have shoulder issues.

What will you make? anything of your choice that is made out of coils during the allocated time. It could be: a large garden pot, a sculpture of an animal or figure, something you have been wanting to make for a while. Suitable for indoor or outdoor use.
Please bring: an apron or old shirt

Important notes:
Although all care will be taken, your creation will be going through a volatile alchemical transformation from clay to ceramic. There is a slight chance of breakage, and if this happens (which is not that common) then we can discuss options for replacement.
At the Studio your items will be dried, bisque fired and glaze fired over the space of about 4 weeks with great care. Once this part is complete, you will be able to collect yours from Harmony on High Street in Campbell Town during business hours.
